The MA in Development Management (Bochum Programme) is offered at UWC since 2002 and now constitutes part of the DRD. It is a twin course of the Master's Programme in Development Management at the Institute of Development Research and Development Policy of Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, with respect to curriculum, lecturers and the degree awarded.
The MA in Development Management of Ruhr University Bochum, Germany, will be awarded to successful students. Excellent students can receive the degree of the partner institutions as a second degree after 3 semesters of studies if they fulfil additional requirements. The programme includes a summer school and an internship period in Germany.
The course starts every two years with the next intake in May 2012.
After completion of course work of the first semester and participation in German language classes you will have the opportunity to take part in a Summer School on Research Methods and Development Practice at Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany, between mid September and mid October. During this Summer School you will meet the students of the twin programme in Bochum. Apart from coursework the Summer School usually includes a seminar on Inter-cultural Communication and Team Building as well as some excursions for you to get more familiar with Bochum, the Region and Germany.
The Summer School will be followed by an internship period of about two months with a German development organization or a corporation in the private sector.
